This tool will help you pick a name for your -- or someone else's! -- baby by repeatedly presenting you with pairs of names from which you must pick the one you prefer.

Currently, the site is set up to pick girls' names only. The base list consists of the top 1,000 baby girl names in the U.S. from the years 2000-2006, according to the Social Security Administration.

To begin, you must pick a subset of those names from which your pairs will be drawn. Here are some preset selections from the base list to get you started:

What if I need to take a break?

If you're working through a large list of names, it's perfectly fine to take a break. Just don't close your browser window/tab! You can come back at any time and resume the process. But if you close the window/tab, you'll have to start over.
