Many of you have noticed that Evan’s picture has not appeared on the Sacred Heart website. The reason for this is that Evan had to leave the hospital in Eugene on Wednesday afternoon and be transported to Doernbecher Neonatal Care Center in Portland. The doctors in Eugene noticed a couple issues with his heart and a problem with his blood, and they wanted him at DNCC for closer observation and immediate access to their specialists.

Steve rode in the ambulance transport with Evan; Jen was discharged from Sacred Heart later in the afternoon and joined Steve & Evan in Portland Wednesday evening.

One of the issues with Evan’s heart has already resolved on its own, and the other is fairly common in newborns and poses no immediate risk. The problem with Evan’s blood is still being observed and treated, and it appears to be improving.

Once things settle down, we’ll get our own baby pictures on the web… and there will be many! Thank you all for support and congratulations.
